Setting Environment Variables

i struggled to set environment variables on mandriva 2010,
but plug helped me out

use

$ export PATH = $PATH:/opt/apache-tomcat-6.0.18/bin

u can change directory name as required.

then add this line to bottom of following files situated in home folder.

.bashrc
and
.bash_profile

so that these variables will be permanently set.
